Supported Living Services and Individual Support Services Supported Living The Arc believes in typical adult lifestyles in their communities for all individuals with disabilities regardless of the severity of the disability. The Arc provides customized support services for adults with disabilities in apartments, townhomes, or single-family homes according to their preference. Some individuals choose to live by themselves. From drop in help with food shopping and bill paying to around the clock support and complete personal care, trained staff work with individuals to help them achieve their personal goals, remain connected to family and friends, build new friendships, and participate as active members of their community. Individual Support Services The Arc offers customized assistance to people in their home and community life based upon the individual's specific needs. From assistance with transportation to doctor's appointments and social outings, to help with meal preparation and bill paying, The Arc provides services to suit each person.

Employment Services for Adults & Transitioning Youth
The Arc Employment Services currently offers long-term commuity based employment supports to over 140 adults with developmental disabilities. Services offered in integrated settings include individual placements and industrial, clerical and janitorial enclaves in over 65 Harford and Baltimore County businesses and local and state agencies. Individuals are supported in seeking and maintaining employment through job development, job coaching with follow-along supports, case management and transportation. The monthly Job Club with over 40 participants offers workers a chance to socialize with friends and share work experiences. Recognizing a community need for job development, placement and retention, short-term Job Coaching and Community Based Assessments, The Arc provides short-term services to referrals from The Division of Vocational Services.

An increasing number of students exiting Harford County Public Schools at age 21 have requested vocational services. The Arc's Transition Coordinator works with the school system throughout the year prior to graduation to support students and their families in transitioning from school to work.

Community Partners Community Partners supports people’s desire to find and enjoy a mix of meaningful community based activities. The Arc assists those who are semi-retired or between jobs to participate in a variety of community activities such as part-time employment, taking classes, exercising at an athletic club, or pursuing volunteerism.
