Employment Services For Adults & Transitioning Youth

The Arc Employment Services currently offers long-term community based employment supports to over 140 adults with developmental disabilities. Services offered in integrated settings include individual placements and industrial, clerical and janitorial enclaves in over 65 Harford County businesses and local and state agencies. Individuals are supported in seeking and maintaining employment through job development, job coaching with follow-along supports, case management and transportation. The monthly Job Club with over 40 participants offers workers a chance to socialize with friends and share work experiences. Recognizing a community need for job development, placement and retention (JDPR), Short-term Job Coaching and Community Based Assessments, The Arc provides short-term services to referrals from The Division of Vocational Services (DORS).

An increasing number of students exiting Harford County Public Schools at age 21 have requested vocational services. The Arc's Transition Coordinator works with the Harford County Public Schools throughout the year prior to graduation to support students and their families in transitioning from school to work.
