MEMORY GARDEN RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
[ABERDEEN, MD] -On Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1PM, The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region will "cut the ribbon" on a newly created Memory Garden located next to the administrative offices on Philadelphia Road. The project began in 2004 when Aaron Litz, the nephew of a gentleman long affiliated with The Arc, approached the agency about installing a garden as his Eagle Scout project. A small committee of faithful volunteers used a donation from the Evergreen Garden Club of Bel Air to purchase design services and plantings. Aaron engaged family members and fellow Scouts in the preparation work and planting and raised $1000 for the purchase of two benches. Dave and Linda Thomas of Bel Air contributed additional plantings, trees and labor in memory of her brother Dudley Wilcox. Dave Thomas recently completed the beautiful brick pathway leading to the Garden using more than 2000 bricks donated by L&L Supplies of Baltimore.
For the June Ribbon Cutting The Arc will place engraved bricks in this pathway to honor those served by The Arc or those no longer with us whose special gifts have contributed so much to this organization including: Paul Ambrose, Richard Arbuthnot, Mary Barnard, Richard Bodt, Blair Brugh, David Burkins, Roger Byrd, Matthew Cammarata, Linda Cartwright, Franklin Coale, Philip M.
