[ ABERDEEN, MD] - THE ARC NORTHERN CHESAPEAKE REGION WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR OF INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY SERVICES
The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region is pleased to announce that Gloria Perry has been named Director of Individual and Family Services. A native of Harford County, Ms. Perry was the Executive Director of Looking Upwards in Middletown, Rhode Island, an organization very similar to The Arc. Looking Upwards supports over 250 individuals with developmental disabilities with a staff of over 300, and a budget exceeding $12 million dollars. Most recently, Ms. Perry has been the Programs Officer for Tobosa Developmental Services in Roswell, New Mexico, an early intervention programs, residential support, respite and home-based programs, as well as vocational and supported employment programs for individuals with disabilities. Ms. Perry has also provided consultation to several agencies, and she recently returned from Hawaii where she provided consultation related to community day supports.
As Director of Individual and Family Services, Ms. Perry will be overseeing five areas: 1) The Arc Treatment Foster Care Program, a private treatment foster care and adoptions program; 2) Family Services for Harford County, which provides supports to over 250 families of children with developmental disabilities though advocacy, referral services, and financial services; 3) Community Partners, which assists individuals in active community based activities focused on learning and citizenship; 4) Family and Individual Services of Cecil County, and 5) The Arc Volunteer Program.
Ms. Perry is excited about sharing her talents, experiences and energy to make a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities in our community.
The Arc, a private non-profit agency, has provided services and advocacy to adults and children with developmental disabilities in Harford and Cecil County since 1953. The Arc offers a wide variety of services to individuals with developmental disabilities in Harford and Cecil County, both children and adults, to make informed choices in their lifestyles, vocations, education and recreational pursuits, and to assure stable and nurturing lives among their families and friends.
