Name: Yolanda Dockery
Hometown:Harford County
Years in Human Services:18
Years at The Arc:16 What I do at The Arc: Support Coordinator
I became a Support Counselor because I enjoy helping people have a better quality of life, be actively involved in the community and do things that they might not normally ever have a chance to do.
Most memorable moment at The Arc:When I took Cindy and others to the State Fair for the first time and I was driving home and I was not familiar with I-83. Later when I realized I was going the wrong way and turned around Cindy told me the mistake that I had made. She can tell you how to get everywhere. I really should have listened to her. The moral of the story is "You can always use a little help from a friend."
Favorite thing about The Arc: The positive attitude of the people that we support. They can really brighten your day.
When not working, I enjoy (or my passion is): Relaxing because I work two full time jobs and don't get much time for that. I also adore my husband and little 2lb 9 oz. Pomeranian "Madison".
My co-workers, don't know that I:Have worked two full time jobs the entire time I've worked with The Arc.
