“Tim’s joy of life, resilience and passion keep us going.
Tim is beloved and admired by so many around the country, indeed the world.”
Cristy Marchand, Executive Director, The Arc of Maryland
“I had the opportunity to hear Tim present last October
about moving from a facility-based to a supports model and on into a
community building organization. Of course Tim seized the chance to share
some "Tim-isms"... Although Tim was referring to our collective efforts he
was in many ways speaking of what life portends for us all. Tim embodied the
true spirit of our Core Values and the role NCE plays in making a difference
in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Tim
touched so many and he will be missed by many, many more. “
Barry A. Meyer, President, NCE Executive Director, The Arc Baton Rouge
“Tim’s dedication to The Arc made a difference in all our
lives, especially my son, David Knox, who passed away in 2006. During his
college internship at The Arc, David professed he knew he had made the right
choice in choosing Social Work as his career. It was at The Arc that David
formed a bond with the clients and hoped to make a difference in their
lives. I have vowed to carry on David’s spirit and compassion to help
others. Let us all carry on Tim’s love, spirit, compassion, integrity and
most of all the respect he earned and so much deserved. Thank you, Tim
Quinn, for making a difference. “
The David Knox Family
“Tim Quinn was a remarkable person in so many ways. He
made it possible for Amy McKee to become part of The Arc at a time when it
would not have happened. We will be forever grateful. His visions for people
with disabilities were unbelievable. But the best part was that he worked
tirelessly to make them happen. I will forever cherish the time I worked
closely with Tim. He taught me so much. He will be forever missed, but
never forgotten.”
Nancy McKee, Parent
"Tim was not only a special person in so many ways, he was
also a friend I respected and admired. We both enjoyed the Marx Brothers
and their unique way of combining comedy and beautiful music. We always
found a minute or two to discuss them when we would meet. Tim was a very
special leader and human being who could and would be successful in
virtually any activity or role that would involve people. You and your
associates at The Arc, Northern Chesapeake Region, were truly fortunate to
have Tim as “your leader”. Not all good leaders are also good teachers,
willing and pleased to share their knowledge, and train others accordingly.
Tim was all of this and more. I for one will never forget him."
Alan Elkin, Advance Business Systems
"I consider it a special honor to have known Tim and to
have been a member of the committee that chose him for the position of
Executive Director of The Arc 20 years ago. He was a tireless worker as an
advocate for people with disabilities as well as a good friend over all the
years. I cannot say enough about this wonderful man. May God Bless his
soul."
Dick Depkin, Former Board Member and Parent
"I remember Tim when he first came to Harford County to
serve as Executive Director of The Arc. I eventually had the pleasure of
working with him closely during my tenure on the Board. I am very fortunate
to have known Tim. It is rare that someone of his stature crosses paths
with you in life. I am fortunate to have known him, and even more blessed
to call him a true friend. He left us too soon, but not so soon that he did
not leave his mark. Tim was a true Harford County treasure. I will miss him
greatly."
